Polaris ranger clunking noise in front end.

#1 · Dec 4, 2017 I have a 2016 s that has a loud clunking and popping noise coming from the front end. A couple things I have noticed the drivers side shock has a little bit of play between the top bushing where it bolts up. I jacked it up to turn the wheels to see if I could locate where the noise was coming from and it does not make the noise when it was in the air. Ive read many threads saying that their rzr 1000 has a clunking when hitting bumps and that its the sway bar bolts being loose. So I checked them and they are all tight. I had the rzr to shop all they could find wrong was a u joint and the carrier bearing. But the noise is still there.

Sounds as if the driver side shocks is bottoming out. Anyone seeing or "hearing" this? 2016 Polaris General Blue. Super ATV Front A-arms and 3" Lift.

Turned out to be oil loss in the driver's side front shock. Took the shock to Shock Therapy, they tested it and confirmed that diagnosis.It’s has 45 hours and 225 miles on it. The only mods done to it is a snorkel and 29” tires. The issues I’m having include the vehicle kind of surging when try to move at a very low speed like when crawling and also a bad clunking noise in the rear end when I give gas, let off the gas, or in bumpy, uneven terrain.Front end clunking. When I had my 08 800rzr, thats the same scenario I had with the front diff. My front end would click when in awd and two wheel drive. The culprit was a broken sprague cage. I replaced it with an aftermarket rather than use a Polaris part and risk the same damage again out in the trail.HOWEVER, when first accelerating in either H or L or when accelerating after coming to a complete stop and applying any throttle greater than the lightest touch you will hear a loud clunk.
